Simple Energy has expanded its adoption of Siemens’ cloud-based software solutions to support advanced product engineering and digital transformation as the company scales its electric vehicle portfolio.
  • Electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Simple Energy, has deepened its adoption of Siemens Xcelerator to develop sophisticated electric vehicle (EV) variants, complex assembly and variant design and drive faster time to market
  • Expands Teamcenter X adoption and replaces legacy 3D CAD solution with Designcenter X to solve complex vehicle development programs

Siemens announced today Simple Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has expanded its adoption of Siemens’ cloud-based software solutions to support advanced product engineering and digital transformation as the company scales its EV portfolio.

Simple Energy is using an expanded set of solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, including Teamcenter® X software for product lifecycle management (PLM) and Designcenter™ X software for advanced vehicle engineering. The company is also leveraging Teamcenter X advanced product configurator capabilities to manage complex vehicle variants and enterprise level bills of materials (BOMs). This integrated digital environment enables Simple Energy to improve collaboration across engineering teams while maintaining flexibility and cost efficiency.

“As our products scale in complexity, we’re strengthening the systems behind how we build them. With Teamcenter X and Designcenter X, we’re able to manage complex variants and large assemblies with greater speed and control - enabling us to accelerate development without compromising agility.”, said Kiran Poojary, chief technology officer at Simple Energy.

Simple Energy has expanded its adoption of Siemens’ cloud-based software solutions to support advanced product engineering and digital transformation as the company scales its electric vehicle portfolio.

“Simple Energy’s expansion of its Siemens’ software footprint demonstrates how customers can scale their digital foundation as product complexity increases,” said Matthew Thomas, vice president and managing director for India, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Through close collaboration, we are supporting Simple Energy with a fully integrated vehicle engineering and lifecycle management digital thread that helps accelerate innovation and support its growth targets.”

Simple Energy initially adopted Teamcenter X to establish a centralized product data management backbone and improve collaboration across engineering functions. As its electric vehicle programs matured, the company expanded its use of Siemens’ software to support enterprise BOM management and variant configuration, including a ‘150 percent BOM approach.’ By providing a master, configurable BOM that includes all possible components, options and variants for a product family, Teamcenter X helps Simple Energy configure specific 100 percent BOMs for individual customer orders, enabling efficient management of multiple vehicle variants.

To address increasing design and assembly complexity, Simple Energy has also extended its engineering environment and replaced its legacy 3D CAD capabilities with Siemens’ Designcenter X, which integrates seamlessly with Teamcenter X. The extended adoption supports advanced surface design, large assembly performance and 3D electrical routing and harness, helping engineering teams work more efficiently as product complexity increases. Siemens’ value-based licensing model also enables Simple Energy to scale its software usage in line with business growth.
