Looking for the best tech content this year as well

Applications for the 2025 Siemens Media Award are now open.

More sustainable, refillable deodorants, therapy using VR glasses, minimally invasive robotic surgery – these are just a few examples of how technology can make our world better, and the topics covered in reports by the previous year’s Siemens Media Award winners. Applications have now reopened for the domestic and international press award, which in 2025 once again invites journalists and content creators producing outstanding work on technology-related topics to apply.

For the competition announced under the title “Technology with Purpose,” entries can once again be submitted with media content that highlights how technology supports sustainability or the development of the economy and society. The international company’s annual press award is presented, in addition to Hungary, in eight other Central and Eastern European countries (Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia).

Media content published between February 1, 2024 and February 28, 2025 can be submitted for the award, regardless of format or length, with no further restrictions regarding the topic.

“Continuous innovations and ever-new technological solutions are part of our everyday lives and also influence our future. This is why we welcome entries covering any segment of our lives, from authors of print and online news portals, radio or television journalists, podcast creators, as well as bloggers, YouTubers and other content creators alike,” said Márk Arató, Head of Communications at Siemens Zrt.

The domestic entries will be evaluated by an independent professional jury, including the multiple award-winning Gyöngyi Sági, owner and editor-in-chief of digitrendi.hu, as well as Enikő Vass, a communications professional who has also received several journalism awards.

The authors of the content selected among the top three will win VIP experience vouchers. Outstanding domestic entries will also advance to the regional competition, where they will be compared with the best entries from the other countries by an international jury. The five best applicants in the region will be invited to the prestigious Concordia Ball, a journalists’ event in Vienna. During the trip to Vienna, the winner of the competition will also be announced, who will win a cultural program in Austria, including two tickets and hotel accommodation for the Salzburg Festival.

The domestic jury is accepting entries until March 10, 2025 at mediapalyazat.hu@siemens.com.
