Winners of the first edition of Siemens’ Grant Program

26 February this year saw the awards ceremony of the first edition of the nationwide Tech Innovators grant program. The program was created to support the ambition and creativity of the young generation of engineers and to accelerate the development of the most promising student projects.

A total of 20 teams from eight Polish technical universities applied to the first edition in the 2025/2026 academic year. Six student research clubs received grants, and the total value of the awarded prizes amounted to 53,000 PLN. Participants also gained the opportunity to engage in dialogue with industry experts, learn about modern technological tools and present their achievements to a wide audience.The program is part of Siemens’ activities focused on supporting technical education and the development of future‑oriented skills.

From space to electromobility

Teams could apply to the program if they were working on projects using Siemens solutions in areas such as industrial automation, drive systems, digital twins and modeling, data analytics in industry, autonomous systems, cloud computing or energy efficiency.The range of submitted projects confirmed that young engineers and programmers think boldly and globally. Among the awarded initiatives were projects related to building a stratospheric pseudo‑satellite, autonomous rocket systems, digital twins of electric racing cars and batteries for a racing electric motorcycle.

Winners of the Tech Innovators 2025/2026 program

Main prize winners:

  • SimLE Student Research Club (Gdańsk University of Technology) – cash prize of 15,000 PLN gross
    Project: SimLE SimBa Propulsion
  • Student Vehicle Aerodynamics Club (Warsaw University of Technology) – cash prize of 10,000 PLN gross and 6 hours of expert consultations with Siemens engineers
    Project: Batteries for a racing electric motorcycle for the Motostudent 2027 competition
  • Student Research Club for Airborne Measurement and Control Systems (Warsaw University of Technology) – prize in the form of Siemens products worth up to 10,000 PLN gross
    Project: Construction of the Hawk Eye stratospheric pseudo‑satellite

Additional award winners:

  • AGH Space Systems Student Research Club (AGH University of Krakow) – cash prize of 5,000 PLN gross
    Project: Precise control of the apogee of a sounding rocket using an autonomous aerodynamic braking system
  • SKNL Legendary Rover Team (Rzeszów University of Technology) – prize in the form of Siemens products worth up to 6,500 PLN gross
    Project: Six‑degree‑of‑freedom manipulator for a Mars rover analogue
  • Silesian Greenpower Student Research Club (Silesian University of Technology) – prize in the form of Siemens products worth up to 6,500 PLN gross
    Project: Digital twin of an electric racing car with a composite frame
