A consortium including Siemens România, Siemens AG Österreich and Red Point Software Solutions finalized an intelligent solution for measurement data collection and management, designated for Delgaz Grid in Romania. The solution includes 2 applications integrated in a common platform, that can process and manage, under its final configuration, data generated by 1.500.000 energy meters located in the Eastern Romania.
“We are glad that due to the strong cooperation between Siemens Romania and Delgaz Grid, it will be possible to monitor the energy supply at household level, as well as the long-distance rapid intervention for a better management of continuous energy supply”, said Daniel Barciuc, CEO Siemens România.
Implementing an integrated Metering Data Management System is key for processing data collected from both classical and intelligent meters, as well as for harmonizing the necessary procedures and processes, from metering until invoicing.
“By 2029, Delgaz Grid plans that 85% of our consumers will benefit from intelligent energy metering, and the Siemens solution fits perfectly to our business requirements. Therefore, we lay the ground for introducing different tariffs, depending on specific timeframes and some dynamic tariffs, depending on the energy demand and supply, as well as on our flexibility services. We would like to thank Siemens for their professionalism and innovation. I would also like to congratulate my colleagues for their involvement in a major project for our company”, mentioned Mihaela Cazacu, Deputy General Manager Delgaz Grid.
Finalizing this project presented a high complexity, as the Siemens solution integrated different types and generations of Distrigaz Grid metters, into a system able to process a great deal of data in real time.
“I would like to thank once more both the professional Siemens România and Delgaz Grid teams for successfully implementing such a complex project. Adapting, developing and configurating the software packages, to be able to inter-operate at the applications and business level, were made possible due to a close cooperation, for which we are grateful”, added Andrei Secelean, Head of Smart Infrastructure, Siemens România.
The Metering Data Management System is already operational and its main features are collecting and managing data, and calculating energy consumption for each household.
