Teck Global, a leading specialist in power systems integration with expertise in delivering complete in-house turnkey solutions for electrical distribution projects, has been appointed as Siemens’ value-added reseller (VAR) for the medium voltage portfolio in Australia. The agreement with Perth-based Teck Global follows several successful collaborations on recent projects with Siemens. Most notably, this includes successful delivery of Western Australia’s (WA) grid scale sustainable energy projects including the Kwinana Battery Energy Storage System Stage 2 and Collie Battery Energy Storage Project, further developing WA’s renewable energy capabilities.
Strengthening the relationship will help both organisations support Australia’s net zero commitments, especially in WA. The partnership will ensure shorter lead times for project delivery, increased cost effectiveness and wider access to engineering solutions in the medium voltage sector and an opportunity to increase local content. The agreement will cover Siemens’ 11/22/33kV gas insulated medium voltage switchgear, 17.5kV air insulated medium voltage switchgear and 11/22/33 kV ring main units.
Speaking at the signing, Asad Khan, General Manager for Siemens’ Electrification and Automation Systems in Australia and New Zealand, said, “It’s great to welcome Teck Global as our value-added reseller in Australia as it follows our successful trajectory of working with them on significant projects, especially in the mining and minerals industry in WA."
"As we support our customers through the energy transition to meet current and future needs, it’s critical we have a strong local partner that has deep in-house engineering and product expertise and supply chain connections that help get our products into the market quicker. We look forward to many more years of continued success with Teck Global," said Asad Khan, General Manager for Siemens’ Electrification and Automation Systems in Australia and New Zealand.
As a VAR to Siemens, Teck Global will purchase the primary parts of medium voltage switchgear and then source and assemble the low voltage equipment required for customer delivery. They will also have access to other partner benefits such as access to engineering information and the opportunity to train site technicians on Siemens technology.
"Teck Global has had a great trajectory of growth since our inception a decade ago. Our engineering excellence and product expertise have helped us deliver significant local, regional and national projects. Our new facility is the next step on this journey. Working with global technology leaders such as Siemens enables us to deliver tailored solutions that leverage best-in-class technology to meet the challenges of the local market. As the electrification market continues to grow, the ongoing product development and support of Siemens is a key value-add that enables Teck Global to continue to deliver successful outcomes for our customers," said David Zucaro, Managing Director for Teck Global
