To support Thailand's medical front-liners in the fight against COVID-19, the Siemens entities in Thailand have jointly donated three units of the Siemens Healthineers ACUSON NX2TM ultrasound system, valued 3.6 Million Baht, to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health. The Ministry will distribute these systems to the hospitals that are in shortage of necessary medical equipment

During this challenging COVID-19 pandemic, mobile, fast and accurate diagnosis is key to more efficient and effective workflow in the hospital. The ACUSON NX2TM ultrasound system is an ideal solution as it is engineered to deliver essential technology in a scalable system designed for smart scanning. It allows dedicated report and customized protocol for lung examination at a faster rate. In emergency rooms and intensive care units when Computed Tomography isn't readily available, lung ultrasound is strongly recommended for diagnosis of acute respiratory failure.

Importantly, the mobile system can be moved to different locations easily and thus reducing cross contamination.
The Handover was made on April 21 by a representative of the entities - Mr. Philippe Pedeboscq, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers Thailand to Mr. Sukhum Karnchanapimai, M.D., Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health.

The Siemens entities in Thailand are Siemens Healthineers, Siemens Industrial Business, Siemens Limited and Siemens Mobility.

Additionally, the Group has made monetary donation to the COVID-19 Committee in Cambodia and to the National Committee for the Healing of the Society for the Prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Myanmar.
