Industry 4.0 is an opportunity for Indonesia to enter the top ten biggest global economy by 2030 as it should lead to a boost in exports. The fourth industrial revolution powered by digitalization is the key to Indonesia’s industrial transformation. According to Prakash Chandran, President Director and CEO of PT Siemens Indonesia, “Siemens Indonesia is looking to become a key enabler in shaping Indonesia’s industrial transformation as part of the national’s program Making Indonesia 4.0.” With the purpose to promote dialogue among cross-stakeholders on how a successful digital transformation can contribute to a sustainable future of Indonesia’s industry, infrastructure, and its people – Siemens organizes a one-day forum “Siemens Digitalize Indonesia 2019” in Jakarta on October 31, 2019.
Featuring 40 speakers from international and Indonesia as well as 20 marketplace exhibitions, the forum discusses technologies that shapes digital transformation in manufacturing, energy, railways, ports, and healthcare sectors. The forum is attended by more than 500 people consisting from the government, state-owned enterprises, associations, customers and business partners of Siemens.

Siemens is also strongly supporting Indonesia’s goal of upskilling and reskilling the local workforce in order to prepare the country for future challenges and needs. As a key collaboration partner, Siemens is implementing TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training) programs at selected public institutions in the country – aimed to train 1,300 people by 2023. Siemens has a dedicated unit focusing on the Smart Manufacturing especially for Education Machine Tools Systems (MTS) Certification in collaboration intended for collaboration with universities and vocational schools.
